Today was a great day for Hot Springs and Lakeside School Districts. I was proud to get to be a part of the Governor's Coding Tour. His first stop today was Lakeside High School. What an amazing job this school district has done putting into place a K-12 Computer Science program. There are many teachers and students that are excited about computer science in this district and it shows.
Also while at Lakeside Governor Hutchinson made an announcement of the Expansion of the Arkansas and Facebook Techstart Partnership to all of Arkansas public high schools. Read the full article here.

The next stop today was Hot Spring World Class High School. Here the Governor visited with students and staff explaining his coding tour and the importance that computer science plays in the job market today. He then joined a class of East students. This great group of students were working on various Computer Science activities including working on HTML and various other projects to help their community. The teachers, administration and students were very excited about the work being done at Hot Springs World Class High School.
If you haven't gotten a chance to see the excited of the Coding Tour I encourage you to watch for the schedule of schools to come out in the spring. If you are doing great things in computer science at your school I encourage you to reach out to me or one of the other computer science specialist and share your stories with us. We would love to hear them. The future is bright in Arkansas so go out and Drop the Code making Computer Science Great!!!!
